The first picture is Penang's St. George's Church, which was built in 1816 (completed in 1818 on Christmas day, in time for the first communion).

The second picture is the St.George's Cathedral in Chennai, which was built in 1815, predating the the St. George's church in Penang.

Not only do these churches share the same name, their aesthetics are identical too. Penang's St. George's Church was modeled after St. George's Cathedral in Chennai, in a Georgian-Palladian style. Both churches have prominent Doric columns and their inverted cone-shaped clock tower.
It is not a sheer coincidence because the same person designed these two churches. A military engineer named Colonel J.L. Caldwell of the Madras Engineers designed the buildings. While Colonel J.L Caldwell was stationed in India, he had Captain Robert Smith to of the Bengal Engineers to supervise convicts from India to built the Penang's St. George's church.
