From 1877 to the 1960s, Pulau Jerejak housed two quarantine stations, one on the Southeast (1877) and a newer one on the Northwest (1911).

Many people passed through its gates, and many are the ancestors of today's Malaysians.


If you have Chinese or Indian ancestry, and if your ancestors came during the time between this timeline, they may have came through Malaya through Jerejak.
