Sited along Lebuh Light, the Penang High Court is housed inside a more than a century-old Palladian-style building.

The court building underwent a restoration and expansion programme in 2005, and during the process, a beautiful stained glass dome was uncovered, although in broken pieces. The stained-glass dome went unnoticed for decades (and perhaps centuries?) as it was covered by a rather uniquely designed ceiling, which was thought to be the finished design of the ceiling.

The cast-iron frame stained-glass dome is adorned with peacock motifs, as the stately peacock is the symbol for East India Company. The dome has now been restored.
Do note that the area is out of bounds to the public.
